Climate change is causing more frequent and severe flooding, disproportionately affecting rural communities and farming businesses. Rural areas face significant economic and infrastructural damage, hindering recovery and isolating remote communities, while farms suffer direct impacts on livestock, crops, soil, and infrastructure, leading to substantial clean-up and repair costs.

Recognizing these challenges, the Rural Flood Resilience Partnership, comprising the Environment Agency, NFU, ACRE, ADA, CLA, and Natural England, has been formed.

This partnership aims to strengthen collaboration, better understand the unique vulnerabilities of rural areas, support rural communities to strengthen their flood resilience and support adaptation opportunities to reduce flood impacts.
